APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
To apply to the Program for Intensive English (PIE), please review the requirements below. You must have all of the required documents before you begin the application. The application is online here.
For International Students (F-1):
Including new international students, transfers within the US, or change of status. If you have questions about the F-1 visa process, contact us.
☐ Valid Passport
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival to the USA. If your passport will expire soon, please request a new passport before applying to the PIE.
☐ Proof of Financial Resources (Bank Statement)
Please request a letter or statement from your bank that shows: bank name; bank address; account holder’s name; ending balance; type of currency; and date of statement.
The bank statement should be less than 6 months old. It must be a personal account. It cannot be a business account.
The ending balance should show at least $6,789 for each session you want to study. If you will have dependents (F-2s), please add proof of an additional $1,458 per dependent per session. This is not the cost of the program, this is just what you need to show to receive the I-20 form.
☐ Sponsor Form
The sponsor form is only required if the bank statement (financial proof) is in someone else's name (other than the student). Click here to download the PIE sponsor form.
☐ Application Fee ($150)The application fee is paid at the end of the application. You can pay with a debit card or a credit card. The application fee to PIE is non-refundable.
For All Other Students:
Including residents, citizens, visitors (B1/B2/ESTA), other visas, asylees, parolees, TPS, and more. We accept everyone. If you have questions about your status, contact us.
☐ Valid Photo ID
You can upload a clear scan of your passport, driver's license, permanent residency card, or another photo ID that shows your full legal name and photo.
☐ Application Fee ($150)
The application fee is paid at the end of the application. You can pay with a debit card or a credit card. The application fee to PIE is non-refundable.
